Olivia Marsh walked into Diane’s office wearing no makeup, no sunglasses, and no diamond bracelet.
She looked younger without Victor beside her.
Not innocent.
Just frightened.
Her public defender sat beside her, but Olivia did most of the talking.
“Victor told me you were already separated,” she said.
“I know.”
“He told me the company was basically his.”
“I know.”
“He told me you were cruel to him. Cold. Controlling.”
“I know.”
Her eyes filled.
“I wanted to believe it.”
That was the first honest thing she said.
Then she opened her bag and removed a small silver flash drive.
“I started recording him after he asked me to put the cash in my carry-on.”
Diane leaned forward.
