Signs of biological aging

Actual age can often be different from biological age. Biological age is determined by observing how the body’s tissues and cells are functioning. This is clearly seen in the rate at which nails grow. The doctor said he pays close attention to whether his fingernail growth has slowed down and notes how long it has been since he last cut them. He referenced a specific study conducted in 1979, in which scientists observed the growth rate of the nails of hundreds of people. What they found was that the participants’ nail growth rate slowed by 0.5% per year, starting at the age of 30. This suggests that if your nails are growing faster than expected, then you are aging at a slower rate than average.
